               Whether at home or in the office, managing supplies can be a great way to ensure little to no disruptions in daily activities, improved cost efficiency and less waste. That is specially the case with the current flux of work-from-home, where supplies remain important, yet, challenges to supply inventory management grows with office decentralization. To help facilitate this process, a supply inventory template is now available.

How to use the Inventory Template

General Information

  • Name – First and last name of the person in charge of supply inventory management.
  • Contact – Telephone, e-mail or another way to contact the person in charge of supply inventory.
  • Date of Last Review – Used to track when supply inventory has been reviewed.

Table

Acquisition – Used to manage the key aspects of supply inventory.

  • Item – Name of the supply purchased.
  • Supplier – Seller or manufacturer of the item.
  • Date – When the supply was purchased.
  • Unit – Number of items purchased at the time.
  • Price per Unit – Cost of the item per unit.
  • Total Price – Automated formula that takes the [Unit]*[Price per Unit].

Current – Tracks the current availability of the item previously purchased.

  • Location – Tracks where the supply is at.
  • Reorder Point – Used to remind users when to purchase more supplies.
  • Remaining Units – Amount of supply units still available for use. If the [Remaining Units] falls below the [Reorder Point], it will be flagged in red.
  • Expire Date – It helps users keep track of items with expiration dates, helping to prioritize supply utilization and limit waste.
