There is a lot of work to be done, but only so many hours in the day. To help structure one’s day-to-day activities, the Hourly Schedule Template is now available. It consists of a day and a weekly – hourly schedule available in both Word and Excel.
There are currently two templates available for use: a day schedule and a weekly schedule.
The daily schedule provides the user with the space to determine the activities and completion on an hourly basis while allowing space for a daily key priority and notes.
Weekly – Hourly schedule provides space for Monday to Sunday activities while giving the same flexibility for key priorities and notes.
The excel version works similarly to word, with the exception that it is all in one place, that dates are shown underneath the title and the hours can be rapidly rearranged to fit one’s day.
In the top portion of the page, there is an area available for the Date, Day of the week and Start hour:
The remaining segments are as follows:
This sheet can be printed in portrait orientation by pressing CTRL+P or File->Print. Unless changes are made to cell sizes, they can be printed on one page.
Similar to the Hourly Schedule, the Weekly Hourly Schedule gives the user flexibility to manage their weekly activities. Users can choose the start of the week date, the hour in which the day begins and list, in short format, the activities for the day followed by key priorities and notes. It is printable in horizontal orientation within one page.
Whether it is the hourly schedule or the weekly hourly schedule, key priorities and notes are a powerful tool to remind the users of the major drivers of their activities. To show users how it can be done, take a look at the following sample:
This sample is from an office environment where a manager understands his priorities for the day/week. In this case, a few notes regarding what is needed to achieve the priorities are added to the Hourly Schedule Template.
To create the space given between bullet points, ALT+Enter is used. Below is an example of the same material written with and without the spacing:
The Hourly Schedule Template can be used in all scenarios, whether in an office, at home, for family matters or to have it all in one place. It helps users manage their day-to-day activities while ensuring that their priorities remain at the top of their minds.
